Annotated bibliography
An annotated bibliography is a bibliography that summarizes the research that has been done. But anyway it is an alphabetical list of sources. Also an annotated bibliography provides a short summary or annotation. The purpose of annotations lies in provision of the reader with a summary and a valuation of the sources. To write a successful annotation, each summary must be brief. An annotation should display the

source's central idea and also give the reader a basic idea of the content of the source. It should also include an explanation about the authority and/or experience of the author, main purpose of the work, also prejudice that may be found. It has to show complete information about the projected audience and level of reading and of course a review comment. An annotation has to be not bigger than 100 to 200 words in its ideal. There are several types of annotations. Indicative Annotations defines the span of the source, lists the major topics and explains the core of the source. In this type of annotation there is no attempt to give actual data such as proofs, etc. Informative Annotations is a summary of the source. An informative annotation should consist of the thesis of the work, arguments, proofs and a conclusion. Evaluative Annotations assesses the source's strengths and weaknesses. In another words, an evaluative annotation should estimate the source's usefulness. A lot of annotated bibliographies include combination annotations. This type of annotation will summarize or describe the topic, and then evaluate the source's usefulness. No matter which writing style is used for annotations, all entries should be short. Only the most significant facts should be mentioned. Information that is evident in the title can be removed from the annotation. Background materials and references to previous work are usually expelled.
